Meditation is one of the many tatics used in stress management. A person who is facing problems often finds it hard to concentrate. It often leads to more problems due to their mistakes. Meditation techniques assist a person to get a calm state of mind without having to use drugs or relaxation tools. Every step to meditation is done in the mind.
Bear in mind that meditation is not a one term deal. It is almost not possible to attain a silent state of mind in just a matter of minutes, especially if it's your first time trying it. It is essential that you keep on practicing meditation and concentrate until you have conditioned your mind to achieve the state just by just thinking it.
Here are a few steps for a beginner to start with meditation as their Stress Management strategy.
# 1: Find A Quiet Corner To Start Your Meditation
When you close your eyes and concentrate, your sense of hearing will be twice or much as good so it is quite possible to hear almost anything in your surroundings.
For beginners, it is important to start out in a quiet place in your home where noise is non-existent. Close your windows and lock your door. If possible, you can tell everyone in your home to minimize their noise so that you won't get distracted.
# 2: Ready Your Position
For beginners, it is advisible to avoid lying down when practicing meditation. Make sure that your back is straight and your hands are relaxed on the armrest or on your lap.
# 3: Begin Your Meditation With Proper Breathing
A good way to start meditation is to do the proper breathing exercise. This way, you can come up with a rhythm that you can easily concentrate on. You will have enough oxygen in your body to keep you relaxed. Keep practicing your breathing until you can do it easily without having to think about it.
# 4: Focus On Your Mind
This might sound difficult but here is a simple example to understand the concept. There will come a time that these random thought will stop and you will notice that you are already in a blank space in your mind. This is the state you want to achieve during meditation. With this, you have successfully mastered the basics of meditation for your stress management program.

Get Stress Free Fast
Don't let stress rip your happiness away from you
Proven Breathing Techniques To Get Stress Free Fast
These proven techniques below are ideal for relieving stress, pressure and anxiety, because they can be performed anywhere, by anybody and at anytime.
A correct breathing exercise can reduce your tension and nervousness and it also reduces your fatigue during the day... you have more energy and are much less tired and lethargic feeling.
Four easy breathing techniques you can use to reduce stress:
Technique #1: Lying down in a comfortable position, with your spine straight, slowly inhale through your nose, counting to 6 in your head. Let the air out through your mouth, counting to 8 in your head as it leaves your lungs. Repeat several times and that’s it! You feel MUCH more relaxed and calmed.
Technique #2: Again, lying in a comfortable position, with your spine straight -- breathe in through your nose until your lungs are full of air. This time, hold your breath for a few seconds, don't force yourself too much but feel the positive effects of the oxygen filling every cell in your body.
Next, breathe out through your mouth, and as you exhale slowly, you feel all the tension and pressure starting to disappear from your body.
Technique #3: This is also called the Abdominal Breathing technique. First, relax and make yourself comfortable. Next, place one hand on your stomach and your other hand resting on your upper chest. Breathe in slowly and deeply and allow your abdomen and stomach to expand like a balloon. Let your abdomen fall down as you breathe out. To get the best results with this technique, you should consider doing it for 5 to 10 minutes every day.(It has been proven that respiration through the abdomen, has a calming and relaxing effect, and it is also very healthy).
Technique #4: In this technique all the breathing is done only through your nose. Place yourself somewhere comfortable, with your spine straight and then inhale through your nose (roughly 5 seconds). Then, exhale through your nose. It doesn't get more simple, but the results are almost immediate and you'll feel so much calmer and more relaxed in just a few minutes of doing this.
